Happiness is...

Cracked wheat pudding.

My mum hadn't made this for a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very long time. And then this week she decided to make some. I'm not not going to ask why, I'm just happy there was some left for me :)

I really don't know what it's made of, but it can be adequately duplicated with cream of wheat, spiced with cardamom and sugar, and then garnished raisins with toasted cashews.

Yummy yummy yummy...

cheers!

  1. It looks unbelievable! This is exactly the sort of thing I'd want for breakfast on a fall day or as a sweet snack on a winter's night. Now to find the hunky man that of course would be enjoying this with me ... you don't by any chance have a hunky man recipe handy do you???

  2. Looks delicious! Too bad I don't have the recipe; otherwise I could say it tastes as well delicious! ;)

Have just started a foodblog myself, so excited to start making all this new things!

  3. That does look really good. I'm most curious how it is your mum makes this and you don't know what it's made of. I find that very strange. How can that be? Are you being real about this?

  4. I'm horribly uncultured and have no idea what cracked wheat (or cracked wheat pudding) is, but it looks sensation, and the toasted cashews on top are killer!

  5. Hello all!

Ivonne - as I emailed you, you are very right--it would be a lovely warm breakfast on a cold day. As to the man recipe...I'll see what I can do :)

K&S - Yes it was (all gone now).

    Julia - Welcome!

Tana and Ellie - I honestly don't know what cracked wheat is. It's my mum's term for this. As I said before, she hadn't made it in years--possibly since I was in school. I'll ask her some time this week....mind you, the answer may still leave it a mystery!

Thanks for stopping by.

I love visitor reactions but not anonymous notes, comments which went one round too many on the spin cycle, part of an inflammatory campaign, or those best left for the compost heap. And yes, comments left by "content marketers" are spam, in my eyes and will be dealt with accordingly.

The recipes I post have worked for me, but if you've had problems, I'll do my best to help. Attacks based on results because you've not followed what I've posted (changed ingredients, cooking methods and/or quantities) won't be posted.

In other words: be kind or constructive, not libellous or smarmy.
